The field of massage therapy is growing faster than ever before.
As physical and mental wellness become increasing priorities among the aging U.S. population, more and more people are pursuing the therapeutic benefits of massage therapy. There is a wide array of notable statistics to document this upward trend:
- According to the U.S. Department of Labor, employment for massage therapists is expected to increase 20% between 2006 and 2016 – faster, on average, than all other occupations.¹
- Massage therapy is an almost $11 billion dollar industry.²
- Between August 2006 and June 2007, approximately 24% of adult Americans received massage therapy at least once.³
