3 Tips to Growing Your Massage Practice
Creating your own business is an exciting venture—but maintaining its success can be more daunting than originally imagined. The American Massage Therapy Association has put together some tips for those wishing to boost their massage therapy practice.
AMTA says getting new clients and retaining existing clients is the name of the game. To accomplish this, they recommend the three following methods to keep you on the right track.
- Advertising: This is how you reach new clients and remind current clients to stay with you. To create your personal marketing plan, there are many avenues to consider: direct mail, newsletters, newspaper ads, or online advertising. These are all excellent paths towards business growth. Other less traditional marketing ideas may be attending events to pass out your business card, or public speaking about the importance of massage therapy.
- Promotions: This is a good way to motivate prospective clients to give you chance. Special offers or discounted prices create enthusiasm and a sense of urgency. Promoting multiple-appointment offers can also bring in new clients. And while getting new clients is great, don’t forget about customer retention—be sure to offer these same specials to your regular clients as well.
- Record-keeping: It is essential to keep detailed records of your clients, their visits, and any advertising or promotion that has been successful in the past. Once you know what works, keep doing it!
“Knowing where to spend your time and money to get the most impact from promoting your business is dependent on having a good marketing plan. Your marketing plan will help you define your goals and objectives and then establish a strategy and action plan for achieving your goals.”
