Graduation is a time to celebrate our Soma graduates as they take the next step in their health and wellness career
Celebrating Your Achievement at Soma’s Graduation Ceremony
The Soma Graduation Ceremonies are a time to celebrate the success of each graduate. Graduation Ceremonies are normally held on a Sunday in the spring of each year.
If you have any questions about your eligibility for graduation (i.e. attendance, grades, financial obligations), please contact the Student Records Office at 312.878.4639.
A cap and gown is ordered for each eligible graduate and is free of charge. You can obtain your cap and gown a few hours prior to the ceremony at the designated location in the commencement venue. You may keep the cap, but please be sure to return the gown immediately following the ceremony.
Valedictorian, Perfect Attendance, and President’s Honors recipients will be announced during the ceremony as you receive your diploma. Recipients of these awards will also be given a certificate with their diploma.
Yes, guests are allowed to attend the ceremony at no additional charge. When responding to the Graduation invite email, please note how many guests will be in attendance so that Soma can prepare the venue.
Graduating students should follow the signs to the designated area where they can check in with Career Services, receive their cap and gown, and take their graduation photos.
The procession will normally begin promptly at 1:00 p.m. The ceremony will include speeches and the conferring of diplomas. The ceremony usually lasts approximately 1 hour.
Professional photographers will take professional photos of each graduate and photos throughout the ceremony. To view graduation photos, please call the Career Services Office at 312-878-4225.
